A true country pub situated in the picturesque hamlet of Marton. Originally an 18th century farmhouse, where criminals were tried and hung and now an independent freehouse featured in the AA Best Pubs in Britain Guide 2008 and the CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2008.
The bar is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet drink with comfy leather sofas, exposed brickwork and a wood-burning stove. The large restaurant which has an intimate feel to it has a menu offering the best in fresh, local and seasonal produce. Sunday lunches at the Davenport Arms are extremely popular so booking is advisable.
Behind the bar you’ll find a selection of Real Ales Theakston, Yorkshire Bitter and Courage Directors are regulars but you will always find a local Real Ale on the guest pump.
The Davenport is also ideal in summer with a large secluded beer garden and patio area to the rear and a children’s play area hidden away.
