The Stanley Arms

The Stanley Arms is one of the highest pubs in the country, and within sight of the Cat and Fiddle, said to be originally, the highest fully-licensed pub in England.

Our bar has a wide selection of real ales from the famous Marston Brewery, accompanied by draught beers and lagers, plus a fine selection or wines.

Food is available in the bar as well as the restaurant and we have our popular specials board - which is placed above the homely fireplace, a popular area during the winter months due to its warm and cosy atmosphere.

Our restaurant caters for family occasions, weddings, anniversaries and many other special events, yet we can still provide the perfect setting for that intimate dinner for two.

We have an excellent reputation for our duck and lamb dishes and we are particularly busy on Sunday for our fabulous roast meals.

'Bottom of the Oven' lamb - a quarter shoulder, glased with redcurrant jelly and herbs, slowly roasted and served with rich red wine sauce is so popular that people book weeks in advance.

Reserving a table for special occasions is essential and includes Sat, Sun, Monther's Day, Father's Day and Valentine's Day.
