The impressive Neo-classical Mansion is first glimpsed on its high vantage point looking out over the Parkland as you walk or drive through the Park.

Built to the design of architects Samuel Wyatt and his nephew Lewis William Wyatt between 1780 and 1813, it was home to the Egerton family from the 18th century.

In 1958 when Maurice, 4th Baron Egerton of Tatton, died the house and collections were bequeathed to the National Trust. Magnificent Gillow’s furniture, masterpieces by Van Dyck and Canaletto, a fine collection of ceramics and Baccarat glass plus one of the National Trust’s finest library collections are displayed in the Staterooms. Visitor can now sit and relax in the library and read carefully selected books and access ditised copies from the collection. You can also get a vivid idea of what life was like for the Mansion workers, with the Victorian kitchens, cellars and servants’ quarters offering a contrasting glimpse of domestic life.

The Maurice Egerton Exhibition and seasonal exhibitions including Maurice Egerton, the aviator, The Tatton Park Biennial and Tatton 365 photographic exhibtion are included in your admission. Guided Tours 12pm, small extra charge (applies to NT members also). Book at Garden entrance.

Christmas at Tatton Park this year takes on a Dickensian theme when the state room decorations will be inspired by the great writer and his novels.
